Guidance
-
Bedroom storage – Residents must have a place to store their belongings such as clothes, shoes and documents. Recovery residences typically limit the amount of property that residents can store in the house. Sometimes it is quoted in the number of suitcases a resident can bring.
-
Lockbox storage – NARR does NOT require lockbox storage, but some recovery residences provide personal lockbox storage and/or require residents to have a personal lockbox for medication, wallets, keys, jewelry or other valuables and/or confidential documents.
Evaluation
-
Do residents have personal item storage?
Evidence
- Policy and procedure
- Staff / Peer leadership role description: one or more roles responsible for conducting property self assessment to ensure standards are met.
- Onsite confirmation that each resident has Bedroom storage and Lockbox storage, if applicable
