3. RECOVERY SUPPORT
NARR Standard 3.0 includes Domain 3. Recovery Support
If the physical home is the “heart” of the recovery residence, the recovery support offered there is the “soul.” While Domain 1: Administrative Operations and Domain 2: Physical Environment provide the foundation for recovery support through the internal policies and structure of the setting, Domain 3: Recovery Support specifies the recovery-oriented standards a recovery residence must meet. The standards outlined in this domain address many of the theoretical concepts described throughout this compendium. For example, each of the social model program domains—physical environment; staff role; authority base; recovery orientation; governance; community orientation—are reflected in Domain 3, and SAMHSA’s dimensions of recovery feature heavily. These will be referenced throughout this Domain. In many ways, the standards describe unique elements that foster positive recovery outcomes for residents of recovery housing.32, 33, 34 — NARR Standard 3.0 Compendium
