This standard rule applies to all recovery residence levels of support.

Guidance

The refund policy should be written, transparent and disclosed to applicants and new residents prior to them signing a resident agreement.

It is one thing to have a refund policy and to disclose it. It is another thing to evaluate whether the policy and procedure that is ethical and legal. While NARR does not prescribe a set of refund policies, Affiliates may offer recovery residences guidance. For example, requiring several months in advance and not refunding a prorated amount to someone who moves out, for whatever reason, in the first ____ days is arguably exploitative. Providers within a state may come to a consensus around what consider appropriate.

  • Refund policies that are not ethic do not uphold the spirit of Standard 1.A.2. Adhere to legal and ethical codes and use best business practices. Moreover, would be a violation of
  • Refund policies that are not leal would be in conflict with Standard rule 1.A.2.d. A statement attesting to compliance with nondiscriminatory state and federal requirements.
