Guidance
-
The wellness of the recovery home is often a reflection of the wellness of the House Manager or Owner/Operator. As persons in recovery themselves, key staff are not immune to the symptoms of substance use disorder.
-
NARR does not prescribe how a recovery residence should support staff maintaining self-care, but it does require that they support it. Recovery residences should have structures in place that promote wellness and resiliency, identify when staff are struggling and/or how they are supported if they have a health crisis, including returning to substance use.
