Guidance
Whereas standard 1.D.12. focuses on written staff job descriptions, this rule focuses on peer (e.g. resident, alumni…) leadership roles. This can range from House President to Chore Captain to Advisory Council Member or any number of roles found within the recovery residence structure and culture. This could potentially include peer staff roles, if there are not substantial power differentials. This rule is NOT referencing “top-down” patriarchy roles filled by someone who happens to have lived experience in recovery from substance use issues.
Evaluation
Is there written criteria and guidelines explaining expectations for peer leadership and mentoring roles?
Evidence
Evidence for meeting this standard should be found in the resident packet and the leadership manual.
