1.C.7.c. Community posts

Rule

Verification that written resident’s rights and requirements (e.g. residence rules and grievance process) are posted or otherwise available in common areas.

Levels

IV

This rule apples to all levels of recovery residences.

Guidance

Recovery residences must make the house rules and grievance process readily available. This is typically done by posting these documents on the community bulletin board or in a binder stored within common areas within reach property. As technology has progressed, some have begun making these documents digitally available through a website or app. If a provider relies on the digital method, they must show how all residents have access to the technology required to access the required posts. To be on the safe side, providers may consider both posting printed copies in the common areas of each property and making them available through digital technology.

Evaluation

  • Are resident’s rights and requirements (House rules) posted or available in common areas?
  • Is the grievance process posted or available in common areas?

Evidence

  • Policy and procedure
  • Onsite visual confirmation of house rules

  • Onsite visual confirmation of grievance process
