A policy and practice that residents be informed of payments from 3rd party payers for any fees paid on their behalf.

This standard rule applies to all recovery residence levels of support.

Guidance

While it is related to other standards (e.g. 1.A.3.a. and 1.A.3.b.), this rule explicitly states the residents must be informed of payments on their behalf. This level of transparency prevents “double dipping” and allows the resident to thank benefactors.

Evaluation

  • Is there a policy and practice that ensures residents are informed of payments from 3rd party payers for any fees paid on their behalf.
